15. the farm cart
The vintage four-wheeled wooden and iron farm cart on display, dating back to the first half of the 20th century, was the most commonly used means of transport, pulled by animals (horse, ox, or mule).
The wagons were used to transport agricultural products, goods, hay, sugar beets (the example on display was mainly used to transport sugar beets from the Rieti plain to the sugar factory in Rieti) and people.
A lantern was always attached to the wagon for light in case of need. The wagon was equipped with "sideboards," sometimes painted, varying in height depending on the goods being transported.
