the museum tour

Strolling through the narrow streets of the village, you come across a one-of-a-kind itinerary: the Posticciola Diffused Museum.
Here, the collective memory of the inhabitants takes shape through 15 stone niches, transformed into small open-air display cases. Each corner tells a story of daily life in the past: from the kitchen to the hearth, from work in the fields to carpentry, including the plow, the cellar, and the cart.
This itinerary complements the existing small museum dedicated to rural activities located at the edge of town, offering breathtaking views, right where the Turano River, a hundred meters below, resumes its slow course towards Rieti.
An open-air museum, open to the public free of charge, even in the evening, thanks to the permanent lighting that takes visitors on an exciting journey into the past.
Completing the itinerary of the Diffused Museum of Rural and Artisan Traditions is the new Museum Hall, located at the entrance to the village. In addition to being an information point, it houses three thematic sections: a fully reconstructed period rural kitchen, a collection dedicated to local viticulture, and a gallery of wheat processing tools, tangible evidence of the work culture that has shaped the area.
